ABOUT ME
BIO
My name is Jennifer Hannon, and I am a LMSW in both Missouri and Kansas. I enjoy working with adults and adolescents (14+) in an individual, family and/or couples setting. I pursued a career in the mental health field because I have personally experienced and witnessed the physical, mental, and emotional pain that comes with struggling with a mental illness. My goal is to meet you where you are at and to walk alongside you as we navigate your life story. I want to empower you to take control of your healing in order to find inner peace and freedom.

EXPERIENCE
After obtaining my BA in Psychology from the University of Nebraska, I took a 2-year hiatus from school in order to pursue a job as a lab manager in the clinical psychology department at UNL. As a lab manager, I investigated the development of eating disorder symptomology in both men and women from the prenatal to postnatal period. I have presented my research findings at various conventions, including APA and ABCT.
I left my job at UNL to pursue a degree in social work. For my foundation practicum, I was placed at Thalia House, where I fell in love with direct practice. During my clinical year, I was placed at EDCare Kansas City. I am currently a primary therapist at McCallum Place in Kansas City.
Through these various experiences, I have come to appreciate the role of clinical science in the treatment of psychopathology. My goal is to bridge the gap between science and practice in order to enhance the efficacy of treatment.
